The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Oluseyi Olusegun Petinrin has charged the Senior Course 32 students of Department of Air Warfare, Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji to dedicate themselves and take active interest in the performance of their duties in the Nigerian Air Force.
The Chief of Air Staff who was represented by the Air Officer Commanding Training Command, Air Vice Marshal MD Umar made this statement during the just concluded Air Power Symposium organized by the Department of Air Warfare. He added that in today’s global world, individuals or organizations remain relevant if they provide timely and efficient solutions to the dynamic of the ever changing environment. He stressed further that, in the Nigerian Air Force, one of the ways of finding solutions to challenges was through research. He therefore stressed that the research report would form vital component of the policy making process of the service.
Earlier in his remarks, the Commandant Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji, Air Vice Marshal Sunday Ali Leks stated that the students of Senior Course 32 had been thoroughly tasked on various aspects of the course especially in the art of conducting analytical research into topical issues and making good presentations. He reiterated the need for the realization of laudable vision of the CAS which is “rebuilding of the operational capability of the Nigerian Air Force.” This he said would definitely require a more realistic approach based on well research foundations.
He concluded that Air Power Presentation was to acquaint the students with techniques of sourcing authoritative materials from which they would obtain facts and figures, conduct interviews, analyze the information obtained, present their views in an objective manner and make appropriate recommendations. |
