   Director of Finance

The Nigerian Navy has appointed Group Captain HM Kolo as Director, Department of Finance, Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji.

Group Capt HM Kolo was born on 31 May 1959 in Zaria, Kaduna State. He hails from Kwaya Kusar Local Government Area, in Borno State. He was commissioned into the Nigeria Air Force through the University Cadet Programme, on 2 January 1983 as a Regular Combatant Officer.

COURSES ATTENDED
Hashim graduated in Accounting from Ramat Polytechnic Maiduguri with (HND) Accounts in 1983. He is registered member of the Association of Certified National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) in 1994.

Thereafter, in 1996, the Officer attended the Institute of Journalism, Lagos and obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing (PGD Marketing). Later, he qualified for registration as a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) in 2005. He is also a Registered Member of the Institute of Management of Nigeria (MNIM).

In 1993 he was nominated to attend the Junior Division of the then Command and Staff College, Jaji, Kaduna. In August 2000 he attended the Senior Division of Command and Staff College (CSC), Now Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) jaji.

APPOINTMENTS HELD
The Senior Officer served in various capacities as Finance Officer, from the Unit level to the Headquarters level within and outside the Country. In 1983 he was posted to Headquarters Pay and Accounting Group (PAG) Ikeja, on attachment as a trainee. After two years he was sent to Port Harcourt, as the Unit Finance Officer After serving for 4 years, the Officer was posted to Headquarters, 81 Air Centre in Binin. He was later posted to Headquarters Nigerian Air Force Station in Jos from 1989 to 1993. In October 1993 he was sent to Somalia on a peace keeping mission as Staff Officer (Finance Comptroller 1) in the Force Headquarters (UNISOM II) on his return and completion of his tour of duty in Magadishu. He was posted to the Presidential Air Fleet Abuja. Until When he was nominated to attend the Senior Course of Armed Forces command and Staff college (AFCSC), Jaji.

On graduation from Jaji, the Officer was posted to Headquarters Pay And Accounting Group, Ikeja, as the Nigerian Air Force Cashier, from 2001 to 2003. Thereafter, he was sent to the Headquarters Nigerian Air Force Abuja as the Deputy director Budget in 2005. In 2006 the Officer was redeployed as the Deputy Director Accounts in the Headquarters. He was later posted to the Military Pension Board in the same year as the Director of Finance, till date.

HOBBIES
His hobbies include Football, Swimming, Jogging and Karate.

The Senior Officer is married with three children.
