MEET THE HEADS OF DEPARTMENTS

Brig Gen Iliya Aliyu Yammah DSS psc(+) FTAM Bsc Msc MNIM

Director Department of Land Warfare

The Nigeria Army has appointed Brig Gen IA Yammah as the Director, Department of Land Warfare, AFCSC.

Brig Gen Illiya Yammah was born on 31 March 1956. He hails from Gingiya Numana Gwantu, Sanga Local Government Area, Kaduna State. He attended St Peters College Kaduna for his Grade II teachers Certificate. He was offered admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy on 9 January 1978 as a member of 23 Regular Course and commissioned into the Nigerian Army Ordinance Corps on 20 December 1980.

COURSES ATTENDED

Gen Yammah also attended Usman Danfodio University Sokoto and was awarded Bsc In management Studies, earned Master in International Affairs and Diplomacy at Ahamadu Bello University Zaria, and currently working for another Master in Strategic Studies at University of Ibadan. He equally attended several military courses including the National War College Course, Abuja.

APPOINTMENTS HELD
Brig Gen IA Yammah has held various Command and Staff appointment, such as: Officer Commanding Admin NAOC (TB) (1991-1992), Chief of Logistics UNIKOM Sector Central (1993-1994), Col Coord Hq NAOCS (1997), Ds AFCSC, Jaji (1997-1999), DS GAFCSC Teshie Ghana (1999-2001), Member Curriculum Reniew Team (2002-2003), Comd CODY (2003-2005), Comd CVD (2006-2007).

MARITAL STATUS
Gen Yammah, a Christian, is married to his lovely wife Mrs Priscilla Yammah, and blessed with 4 children.
