1.Background. Brig Gen Johnson Adesoji Oladeinde was born on 31 August 1960. He hails from Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State. He attended Olumo Primary School, Abeokuta from 1967 to 1970 and Methodist Primary School, Ekotedo, Ibadan, from 1970 to 1973. He proceeded to Methodist High School, Orita Challenge, Ibadan, where he had his secondary education from 1973 – 1978. On completion, he moved to Abeokuta and worked as a Clerical Officer with the Cocoa Development Unit, Ibara, Abeokuta from 1978 to 1979. He was admitted into the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna as a member of 29 Regular Course on 3 Jan 81. On completion of the cadet training, he was commissioned Second Lieutenant on 23 Jun 84 and posted to 145 Mechanized Battalion as an Infantry Officer. Since then, he has attended some civil courses.
2. Civil Qualification. The Senior Officer obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Theology from The Redeemed Christian Bible College in 1999, a Master of Arts Degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies from the Benue State University in Apr 08 and Master of Science in Strategic Studies from University of Ibadan in 2010.
3. Military Training. Brig Gen Oladeinde also attended numerous military courses and seminars/symposium since commission. These include; the Infantry Young Officers Course at the Nigerian Army School of Infantry (NASI), Jaji, from Jan to Apr 85, Regimental Signal Officers Course 2, at the Nigerian Army School of Signals (NASS) Apapa, from Sep to Dec 88. Computer Appreciation Course, at the Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration (NASFA) from Apr – Jun 95, Junior and Senior Staff Courses at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) from Jul to Dec 93 and Aug 99 to Jul 00 respectively. He also attended Company Commanders Course, at the Nigerian Army School of Infantry (NASI) from Jan to Apr 99. Joint Operations Coaching Course at the AFCSC, in Mar 03 and the Inspectors General Course, at the United States Inspector General School, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, USA from 2 to 27 Jun 08. Some of the seminar/symposium attended by the senior officer include; Land Power Symposia 2006, 2007 and 2011 at the AFCSC and the CAT Week 2006 that was organized by the Infantry Corps Center and School (ICCS) now Infantry Corps Centre (ICC), which he attended as a discussant.
4. Operations. Brig Gen Oladeinde took part in some military operations. He was the operations officer of NIBATT 9, ECOWAS Monitoring Group (ECOMOG) in Liberia from Jul 92 to Aug 93. He was also the Second in Command of 93 Battalion Main during Operation HARMONY IV in Bakassi from Aug 2000 to Feb 2001. In addition to these, he served as a military observer with the United Nations Verification Mission III in Angola (UNAVEM III) from Jan to Dec 97.
5. Appointments. Brig Gen Johnson also held several command and staff appointments. They include; Platoon Commander in the defunct 145 Bn from Aug 84 to Dec 88. He was a Company Commander/Acting Battalion Second in Command of 177 Battalion when the unit was in Zuru, Shaki, Liberia and Ibadan from Jan 89 to Dec 94. He was posted to the Department of Army Training and Operations at the Army Headquarters as General Staff Officer Class 2 Contingency between Jan 2005 to Dec 2007. He also served as Commanding Officer Rear of 26 Battalion, Sokoto, from Jan 07 to Jul 99 and unit Second in Command of 93 Battalion Main in Bakassi from Aug 2000 to Feb 2001. After his promotion to the rank of lieutenant colonel, he was posted to Guards Brigade, as Staff Officer Grade1 Administration and Quartering between Mar and Aug 01. Thereafter, he served as a Directing Staff at the AFCSC from Aug 01 to Feb 04. He was posted back to 177 Guards Battalion, Keffi, as a Commanding Officer from Mar 04 to Feb 05. He also served at the Nigerian Army School of Military Engineering (NASME) Makurdi, as the Infantry Rep from Mar to Aug 05. He was once again posted to the AFCSC as Chief Instructor, between Aug 05 and Jul 07. On completion of 2 years in AFCSC, he was appointed Liaison Officer British Defence Advisory Team at the Defence Headquarters in Sep 07; the appointment he held until his selection as participant of Course 17 at the National Defence College, Abuja. After the course, he served at 2 Div Gar as the Gar Comd between 4 Sep 09 – 27 Jan 11 and posted again to AFCSC as D DLW on 28 Jan 11.
6. Awards and Decorations. Brig Oladeinde has benefited from many awards and decorations. They include the Forces Service Star (FSS), Meritorious Service Star (MSS), Distinguished Service Star (DSS), Pass Staff Course (psc), Pass Staff Course Dagger (psc+) and Fellow Defence College, UNAVEM 111, ECOMOG and OP HARMONY.
7. Hobbies. Col Oladeinde finds volley ball, table tennis, driving and movies as hobbies.
8. Marital Status. He is happily married to Mrs Foluke Omowumi Oladeinde and blessed with 3 boys.
