MEET THE HEADS OF DEPARTMENTS

   Brig-Gen AA Ilogho     GSS psc(LVN) fwc MSc MNIM FCAI

Brig-Gen Alfred Asapeokia Ilogho was born in Kaduna on 8 May 1954. He hails from Iraokhor in Estako Central Local Government Area of Edo State.
He had his primary education at the Army Children School, Commilla Barracks, Kaduna and Post-Primary education at St John’s College, Jos. He got admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy as a member of 15th Regular Course in June 74 and was commissioned into the Armoured Corps in June 1976. He obtained a Certificate of Education (NDACE) moderated by the University of Ibadan and a Diploma in Strategic

  Studies from the Command and General Staff College (CGSC) – Kasas, USA. He graduated and became a fellow of the National War College (FWC) in 2002. He holds a Master Degree in Strategic Studies from University of Ibadan. He is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (MNIM). He is also a fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria (FCAI).

COURSES ATTENDED
He has attended the following professional courses: Young Officers Course (Armour), Platoon Commanders Course (Armour), Recce Troops Leader Course, United Kingdom, Junior Staff Course at the Ghana Armed Forces Staff College, Communications Instructors Course (Armour), Eagle Main Battle Tank Officers Course, Senior Staff Course at the Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas USA, Commanding Officers Course Infantry Corps Centre and School Jaji, National War College Abuja and United Nation Senior Managers Course – STM 3. He has attended various Professional Seminars in Nigeria, Ghana, India, Britain and the USA.

APPOINTMENTS HELD
He has held various Staff, Command and Instructional appointments. On Staff appointments, he was a Grade 3 and 2 Staff Officer at both Armoured Bde and Armoured Division HQs, Col Research and Development and also Deputy director Combat Development at HQ TRADOC. He was Colonel General Staff at HQ Armoured Corps Centre and School and Colonel – Personnel services at the DOAA, AHQ.

On Command, he was Platoon Comd ‘B’ Squadron – Armoured, Platoon Comd NIBATT V UNIFIL in Lebanon, Coy Comd 241 Recce Bn, Battalion Second – In Comd 244 Recce Bn, Commanding Officer of 241 Recce Bn 221 Light Tank Bn and 232 Tank Bn successively. He was Commander, ECOMOG Ground Task Force (EGTF) inLiberia and Commander, 24 ECOMOG Bde in Sierra Leone. He was recently the Commander, Joint Task Force, Operation Restore Hope in Niger Delta.

On Instructional appointments, he was Senior Instructor and Chief Instructor – Communications Dept, ACCS respectively. He was the training Team Leader at Infantry Orps Centre and School. He was Directing Staff and later a Director of Higher Military Organization and Operations at the National War College. He is presently the Director, Armed Forces Simulation Centre at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College – Jaji.

He is married to Mrs Adeyinka Ilogho (nee Adeniyi) and they are blessed with children.
